Karmelicka Street - one of the best known and most prestigious streets of Krakow in 19th century, main street of Piasek district, continuation of Szewska Street.
Having been an important through route since Middle Ages conected Krakow and Lobzow where Royal Summer Palace was located. Karmelicka Street was changed at the turn of the 20th century into a fashionable boulevard. Extramural cottages and gardens gave way to solid buildings in eclectic style.
