Helsinki City Tour
played
Thanks to the Finnish presidency of the European Council,
the ICT Propopers' Day 2019 was held in Helsinki.
This gaves us the opportunity to further explore my new hobby
in Finland.
These newbie geocachers found out that there were also caches
and Wherigo's in Finland, so off it goes to explore Helsinki
through the Helsinki City Tour Wherigo.
This tour was nice, since it passed a large number of other caches
which we could search for and log during the tour.
The Wherigo as such was not that special (or did we had done some exceptional good
ones in Belgium that set the bar a bit too high?), and the tour even missed
a number of Helsinki highlights according to us, e.g. the Alko Vanha Kauppahalli.
But it was a nice walk despite the weather which was a bit rainy from time to time,
thus actual true Helsinki weather.
Unfortunately the end didn't went as smooth as it should be, since our GPS started to
guide us to the wrong side of the road.
After a GPS correction, it again guided us to another wrong side of the road.
Since it was becoming a bit late, we decided to first go for dinner and then
try to reset our phone in order to have a more precise GPS location.
After dinner we couldn't accept the fact that we should need to log our first DNF ever,
so we went back to the spot and this time we were directed right to the cache thanks
to a perfect GPS location: in fact we again did not trust the GPS since this position
was in fact impossible... but it seemed it nevertheless was the correct one...
No, this could not be possible, or... Yes, yes, it is possible: what a discovery!
The hint was right, but could map on many items, so the correct one was
never in sight until the moment we discovered it.
A place you don't consider at first, but afterwards actually an interesting
one that is quite safe from muggles that are passing nearby.
Ultimately a rewarding end of the nice city walk.
Found it! TFTC!
