I did my first whereigo back in 2008 and did not have a very good experience. Wound up following others with the proper equipment. 2009 tried another on in York PA and that was horrible as the cartridge kept locking up my PPC and had to keep starting over. Fast Forward to 2017. This is the first one I have done using the new android version of Where We Go. Took a bit of playing around, but once into the game, it went fine. Lots of reading. Some useful, some not so useful. Need to read so you don't get kicked back a spot or two. LOL This did work quite well and I did enjoy it once I got into it. There were times I wasn't sure if I was on the right track or not? Gayle was using her smartphone and got to a point, but I had to cross a creek and into the woods about100 feet away before mine kicked in????? Had no way of knowing if it was my phone, the software, or hardware? Once we completed the cartridge, I tried to enter in the completion code and it didn't work. Tried 15 characters and it didn't work. I thought I had down loaded the cartridge the night before, but couldn't find it, so Gayle emailed me the file. I had to use her name and my completion code because of that before it would accept it. Despite some minor things like that, it was fun. Enjoyed the walk along the trails and fields there.

I kept nagging at GLM that we should do a Wherigo - he didn't seem too keen on the idea, based on his prior experiences. My biggest issue with playing Wherigo on an Android phone is my poor phone battery, which I drain every time I do one of these. Now I know to carry a quick charger with me.
Had some initial issues figuring out "what to do next", but we eventually got into the swing of things. I was not fond of the punishments...have never seen them before and hope not to again.
Otherwise, we enjoyed the shady hike which was mostly on a paved trail.
